Diving into "English Hands-on Fun: My Toy Bus Making Adventure," I crafted a vibrant toy bus using cardboard, paint, and stickers. The process blended creativity with language learning: I labeled parts like "wheel," "window," and "door" in English, practiced colors while painting, and even described the bus’s features aloud. Cutting shapes, assembling the body, and adding details like a tiny driver made each step engaging. This project didn’t just boost my DIY skills—it turned language practice into playful, hands-on fun, making English stick through every creative twist. The result? A colorful bus that’s both a toy and a reminder of learning by doing.
“Mom, can we make a toy bus together?”
- Cardboard box(纸箱):找来一个他装玩具的方形小纸箱;
- Scissors(剪刀):儿童安全剪刀,让他自己剪;
- Glue(胶水):白乳胶,黏性强又好清洗;
- Colored paper(彩纸):红、黄、蓝三色,做车身和窗户;
- Markers(马克笔):黑色写单词,黄色画车灯;
“Look! The scissors are for cutting, and the glue is for sticking,” 我一边说,一边示范拿起剪刀,弟弟眼睛亮晶晶的,重复着:“Scissors! Glue! I can do it!”
Step 1: Cut the bus shape(剪出巴士形状)
“Now, let’s cut the rectangle with scissors!”
Step 2: Add windows and doors(加窗户和门)
Let’s stick them on the bus.” “Open the door! ‘Hello, passengers!’”
Step 3: Make wheels and lights(做车轮和车灯)
瓶盖派上用场了!“Four bottle caps for wheels——one, two, three, four!” ‘Beep, beep!’”
Step 4: Color and write(涂色和写英语)
“This is our English bus!”
Excuse me, driver! Where is the bus going?”
To the park! Get on the bus, please!”
Thank you! This bus is so nice!”
Sit near the window. You can see the trees!”
游戏里,我们反复用“bus, driver, window, park, get on”这些单词,弟弟玩得开心,单词也记得牢,后来他还给巴士起了个名字叫“Yellow Buddy”,每天抱着它,用英语介绍:“This is my bus. It’s yellow. It’s for school!”
